Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Recently Michael Bay talked about the latest Transformers movie which is due out during 2014. He confirmed there will be no human cast from the first three movies appearing in the forth; meaning we will have a whole set of new actors playing in the movie. Autobots and Decepticons will of course stay :). Also with that in mind the movie is said to be taking a whole new direction. The exact quote is:
“It’s not a reboot, that’s maybe the wrong word. I don’t want to say reboot because then people will think we’re doing a Spider Man and starting from the beginning. We’re not. We’re taking the story that you’ve seen and we’re taking it in a new direction.”

When asked if the movie will depart from Earth he said:
“That feels like the way to go, doesn’t it? I want to go a little off but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded. That’s what works in these movies, that’s what makes it accessible.”

The last thing he noted is that the budget for the movie is going to be about $30 mil. lighter then for Transformers 3.

ShoWest, which runs March 15-18, 2010, is the most prestigious and longest running event exclusively for the cinema exhibition and distribution community. Transformers 2 Blu-ray

Released on October 20th, after one week in stores, Transformers 2 has debuted as the biggest seller of the year. Paramount Home Entertainment announced that they sold around seven and a half million DVD/Blu-Ray units worldwide, of which 1.2 million were sold in US. This news was not unexpected considering the movie was also the biggest theatrical blockbuster of the year. If you didn’t get your copy the time to do it is now.

Transformers 2 DVD cover

MichaelBay.com has opened a store recently where you can preorder your autographed Transformers 2 copy until October 16th. All the income generated from the sale will be going to  Make A Wish Foundation. DVD version is priced $40 (including shipping and handling) for USA and $45 for international orders. Blu-Ray version is priced $50 for USA and $55 for international orders. Two to three weeks are expected for delivery, after October 20th.

Scream 2009

This October Spike TV presents the fourth annual “SCREAM,” the first and only global event of its kind to honor the best in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic genres. Taping on Saturday, October 17 at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA, “SCREAM 2009″ celebrates the hottest films, tv shows, comics, actors, creators, icons and pioneers who have influenced and shaped the industry. This year’s show will also continue the tradition of featuring exclusive World Premieres from some of the most anticipated movies of 2010. The two-hour extravaganza will premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27 (10:00 PM-Midnight, ET/PT).

Transformers 2 Blu-ray FR

French version of Blu-ray.com has a listing of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray with 24th October as release date. The listing indicates a price in the range of €28. No official confirmation has been given, but this time frame corresponds to the original movie’s Blu-ray release dates.
